acknowledges the Climate and Living Systems Emergency
Three Seeds
With open eyes and open ears and open hearts we commit to aligning our practice with the reality of a climate and living-systems emergency. We seek to create space for authentic and courageous conversations that acknowledge what is and building momentum toward a life-sustaining future for all. We invite you to walk with us on this journey.
We acknowledge:
-
For the benefit of everyone, so much can change through deep listening and learning from First Peoples’ ways of knowing, being and doing that have and continue to sustain and affirm life.
-
We are in a global human-induced climate and living systems emergency. Some people and places are being affected sooner and more intensely than others.
-
Our climate and living systems emergency is a symptom of interconnected systems, structures, actions and beliefs.
Social justice must to be woven into our responses.
-
We need to be, know and do in ways that support life and thriving futures, rather than in ways that has created this emergency.
-
We have a responsibility to acknowledge and to act; life depends on it.
Adapted from the Living-Systems Informed Facilitation Practice group's declaration of a climate and living-systems emergency.
